The two sides focused on areas of cooperation in strengthening the power grid and rebuilding the Ukrainian energy sector after massive russian attacks, as well as its restoration on the basis of a green transition and decarbonisation.

In particular, the meeting covered the prospects of using the opportunities of the Clean Energy Partnership, which had been announced by the members of the G7+ Coordination Group to support Ukraine’s energy system and the Government of Ukraine during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.

The parties paid special attention to the prospects of developing cooperation within the framework of the Innovate Ukraine Green Innovation Challenge Fund, which had been established during the visit of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko to London. So far, about 60 applications have been submitted to the Fund for implementation.

Yaroslav Demchenkov thanked the British side for its assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector and its commitment to restore the infrastructure destroyed by the enemy on the basis of a green transition, and stressed that the UK was a global leader in showing other countries how to realise their aspirations and potential for a transition to carbon-free energy.

Svitlana Hrynchuk, in turn, briefed the British side on Ukraine’s preparations for the autumn-winter period, which will take place in the context of continued targeted Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

The Deputy Minister also thanked the British side for its assistance in the preparation of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050, presented by Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, and stressed Ukraine’s interest in providing recommendations of British experts to the draft Action Plan for the implementation of the strategy.
